Job Summary

The Town of Jamaica is seeking a new Town Clerk. This is a 28 hour/week position, with office hours on Monday-Thursday from 8:30-4pm. Applications are available at the Jamaica Town Office.

Responsibilities and Duties

Following Vermont State Statutes for Town Clerks
Regular contact with public
Recording, preserving & certifying public documents
Administering oaths of office
Complying with public information requests
Posting public notices
Maintaining and updating Official Town Website
Running local, State & Federal elections, including Town Meeting
Issuing marriage/dog licenses
Serve as Clerk for the Board of Civil Authority
Attending and recording minutes of bi-weekly Selectboard meetings (paid for additional time this requires)
Coordinating publication and distribution of Annual Town Report
Any and all tasks deemed necessary by the Selectboard

Qualifications and Skills

Computer proficiency and ability to multitask are a must
HS Diploma
