NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
The Jamaica Select Board will hold a public hearing regarding a proposed update to the Jamaica Town Plan on September 14, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. at the Jamaica Town Office, 28 Town Office Road, Jamaica, VT. The Select Board solicits public comment on the proposed update, as well as comments from Planning Commissions of abutting municipalities and from the Windham Regional Commission with respect to the compatibility of their respective plans with the proposed Jamaica Town Plan. The proposed Town Plan update includes revisions to the different sections of the Plan based on recent changes in the community and the Town’s current goals and priorities. The Plan pertains to all of the Town of Jamaica. The Table of Contents includes: Introduction, Community Profile, Land Use, Natural Resources, Economic Development, Potable Water Supply and Wastewater, Energy, Community Facilities and Services, Education, Housing, Transportation, Flood Resilience, Town Plan Compatibility, Implementing the Town Plan, and Town Response to Vermont’s Planning Goals. A copy of the proposed Town Plan update and the accompanying report are available for public review upon request at the Jamaica Town Office, 28 Town Office Road, Jamaica, VT during regular business hours.
