MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC WELCOME

In November of 2022, the Jamaica Selectboard approved a plan presented by the Water Street Land Use Committee for the maintenance and improvement of

the town-owned lot on Water Street. (Approx 2.15 acres. Site where four houses were destroyed by Tropical Storm Irene in 2011.)

The plan calls for the removal of invasive species and the planting of native pollinator wildflowers in the southern-facing front section of the property. (The balance of the property is to remain undeveloped as a wildlife sanctuary.)

The Committee will meet on January 5th to move the project forward. See agenda below.

  1. Review final detailed budget (approved by the Selectboard at the 11/28/22 SB meeting)
  2. Prepare timeline for Expenses: purchases, tasks, labor
  3. Discuss Funding
  4. Discuss whether or not to establish a non-profit entity
  5. Discuss announcement of the plans to the community
  6. Next steps
